Why?
As a Merit Badge Counselor, I kept having Scouts come to me ready to work on badges, proudly bringing worksheets they had found and printed online. But time after time, we hit the same frustrating stumbling block: the worksheets were years out of date. Requirements for badges like Personal Fitness had undergone dramatic overhauls, yet the sheets Scouts brought in still carried old criteria—leaving Scouts confused and having to redo work.
For years, the scouting community relied heavily on legacy volunteer archives like USScouts.org. However, Scouting America has introduced sweeping updates across the merit badge program—beginning with the 2025 requirement updates and expanding into an unprecedented overhaul for 2026, where roughly 80 merit badges were updated all at once (detailed in the official 2026 Major Requirement Changes). Because legacy sites hadn't kept pace with these revisions, older workbooks across the web became severely outdated.
Seeing countless parents, unit leaders, and counselors asking across social media and scouting forums if and when updated worksheets would ever be released, I decided not to wait. I jumped in to build a fresh, complete catalog of worksheets created directly from the current, official requirement text published on scouting.org.
I also wanted to rethink worksheet design from the ground up. Many legacy worksheets were visually crowded and loaded with heavy, dark borders that burned through printer toner and ink. Every sheet on this site has been designed with a clean, intentional layout optimized for real-world printing: economical on ink and toner, crisp and legible, and structured with generous space for Scouts to write and record their achievements.
